                        Will McDonald              Worship Leader

Will was born William Frank McDonald in Springfield, Missouri into a Baptist preacher’s home on the 4th of July, 1972. He accepted the Lord and was baptized at the tender age of (nearly) six years of age. In 1979, the family was called to California to start from scratch what would become the fast-growing Faithway Baptist Church. It was from his late mother Victoria Lynn that he learned a life-long love for music. First came singing, later came piano, and much later, guitar.

He attended Christian grade school until high school when he began a home schooling program for his freshman and sophomore years. It was here when the family felt the call to evangelism. They lived and traveled up and down the state in a fifth wheel trailer, making themselves available for week-long revival meetings.

They settled down at their home church Gold Coast Church in Ventura, CA, where Will spent his junior and senior years (and graduated from Buena High School). After two years at Ventura College, he flew east to attend Shawnee’s Oklahoma Baptist University, where he met his beautiful future wife Kara DeAnn (and, incidentally, also graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in Theater Arts and a minor in Vocal Performance).

For graduate school, Will traveled south this time (and even further east) to Baton Rouge’s Louisiana State University: he graduated with his M.F.A. in 1998. Returning to California later that year, he worked with his dad once again at First Baptist Church of El Rio; he helped start the Greenhouse Theatre Group; and later took on Youth and Music ministry duties at the Chapel of Faith, Point Mugu.

After some time in Tennessee with his dad (who had moved to Byrdstown), he followed his still wife-To-Be back to the state of Oklahoma where he became the Youth/Music guy at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Tecumseh. Soon after, in November of 2006, his wife-To-Be finally became his actual Wife! They moved to Oklahoma City in early 2007 where they worked in the Music and College&Career ministries of Mayfair Baptist Church until April of 2010, when they were called as Music ministers at Faith Pointe.

He is the proud father of three amazing children: Boe, Karlie Roxanne, and Maya Sophia. His current key music groups include the David Crowder Band, Jars of Clay and the little-known but influential The Choir. He’s a StarWars geek and gamer guy (card, console, board and otherwise). He is challenged and inspired by the writings of J. Oswald Chambers and Philip Yancey.

Larry Bryant     Youth Minister

Larry began his youth ministry in 2007 at Maguire Baptist Church Noble, Oklahoma.  While there he taught Sunday School, organized a mission trip to Mexico, and began to really connect with students.  He moved on to Willmont Place Baptist Church in Oklahoma City in 2008 and took over as Interim Student Pastor in 2009, coordinating special events such as Falls Creek and YEC.  Larry also continued to develope a heart for students and a connection through counseling and teaching.  Larry came to Faith Pointe in November 2009 as Youth Minister.  His commitment to the youth department is unmatched as far as Faith Pointe is concerned.

"I remember what it was like sitting where they sit now and Wednesdays and Sundays and just not getting it.  If there is anything I can say to them it's 'don't be like me.  Accept Christ now and see what he can do for and through you.'"

Larry is Married to his beautiful wife Angelyn, and they have 3 children: Lauryn, Logan, and Lawson.

Larry graduated from Westmoore Hight School and attended OKCCC.  He has plans to pursue a seminary degree.

Larry's Testimony

My testimony is that of a child growing up in a Christian home all his life.  We were at Church every time the doors were open.  We were fortunate to be able to attend a private Christian school all of our educational time and spent much free time doing activities that revolved around Church or school.  All of that being said, I went down to the alter as a young child, like all of the other kids did when it was time for invitation.  I remember being there and saying that 'all important' prayer, but not sure of really what I had experienced or done.

I spent the next 29 years trying to figure out why my life seemed miserable and hopeless.  I helped out in our Church and was present every Sunday just like we were taught, but something was totally missing.  I got the opportunity to begin preparing for a mission trip to Nicaragua, and as it came closer, we were asked to prepare our testimony in case we were to share during the services.  Only one problem - what in the world was I going to say.  No one knew that this was something that I had been dealing with for a long time.  I knew something had to give and I got very restless and began to question myself as to what I was going to do.  What was everyone going to think, what was wrong with me?  I called my pastor and asked to meet with him and spent that night talking to him.  The more we visited the more confused I got!!  It was when he said I can't let you leave until you know for sure you know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord..  He said if I let you leave and something happens it would be devastating not to know if you know.  The light finally came on and I, for the first time, realized that I had head knowledge  but not true heart knowledge of Christ. It was right there that I knelt down and asked Christ to come into my heart and save me!!!  From that point on I wanted nothing more than to do everything I could to spread the love of Christ.

That summer I went with our Church's youth group to Falls Creek and it was there that I felt the calling to become a youth minister.  I left our home Church to go be the part-time youth minister of Maguire Baptist Church, and was there a little over a year.  After leaving Maguire I went back to Wilmont Place to be interim youth minister, until they found a full time minister.  Once we found the man we felt God wanted, I felt God was calling me to get back out and search for the Church He had for me.  It wasn't long until we found Faith Pointe and believed God was calling us here.

I am excited to be part of a growing and loving Church such as Faith Pointe.  Our youth group is called  THE POINTE  and our main focus is: To take the love and passion that Christ has for us and pass it onto all the we come in contact with.

Come see what God is doing here at Faith Pointe!!
